No way do I see the Sabres finish last unless the injuries continue to mount.

I have to think the Nucks finish last with the Canes and Jackets not too far behind. I do think the Canes are on the verge though of a major turning point for the better, just not this year.

I love this lack of depth for the sabres

On the blue line, love or hate risto, he belong on a top pair, if only as a #2 d man
In Bogosian and Kulikov, you have 2 decent D men in a 20-22 minute role
McCabe is an up and comer, does well in tourneys, and deserves a spot in the top 4.
Franson and Gorges, yeah they are meh, but only going to be playing 17 minutes a night and is an upgrade over a Mike Weber.
Casey Nelson, our 7th d man, had 4 points in 7 games and there is a reason a lot of teams were trying to sign him last spring.

Up front, Kane and Eichel will be back before Christmas
If you assume ror, okposo and reinhart is the top line then you still have....

Gionta, Girgensons, Ennis, Foligno, Larsson, Moulson and blue chip prospects like Bailey, Fasching, Nylander, Carrier and Baptiste to help round out the team during the next 2 months.

I get the sabres won't have a decent #2 line if they put the eggs in one basket for the top line, but they are not as bad as the canes, nucks, blue jackets, jets, and devils (minus hall)

I know you guys love to make the sabres your whipping post, but put a little more focus on a few other teams.

If the sabres were clearly the worst team then why did they take it to the oilers in Edmonton the other night, or did that game not count?

I wouldn't use one game where the Oilers didn't show up as a point to say Sabres are the best. Every team throws up bad games now and again. That said I say Buffalo, Blue jackets and Oilers.

I think it'll be Vancouver, but anyone of these 5 teams can finish at the bottom.

Vancouver
Buffalo
Carolina
Colorado
Colombus

No mention of the Maple Leafs??

Their D is awful, they are very young up front and their goaltending has no proven #1.

I see it's the same Sabres song over and over with you people, maybe time to find another song to play.

Sabres = Best team in the East
Nucks = Best team in the West
Panik = Art Ross
Konecny = Calder

"Brian Gionta logged more than 17. That speaks volumes to me."

Gionta has 3 points in 3 games

what more can you ask for from a guy playing under 17 minutes a game

maybe they should put the xbox down for a few nights and watch a few games

Well, we've been bottom 10 for 4 years running and last twice. It's not like anyone is saying we going from first to worst

I think it's a little unfair to declare the Sabres the worst. They will turn it around and improve, finishing in the bottom 12, but improving. They will finish ahead of Toronto, but not by much. They will likely struggle for a while with the injuries, but will come on strong as they get people back. However, they will only do as well as Lehner allows them to. If he does well, so will they. Colombus on the other hand, will struggle to score all season long and the goaltending is awful. They are my pick for worst team.

Agreed. Not sure why people take it personally. Its not like its a guarantee, its an educated guess based on numbers that point to it.

7 teams worse then them last year, and we added Kulikov and Okposo

if they want to talk about lack of depth, red wings come to mind, as does devils, jets, leafs, nucks, canes, sens etc

And they've also lost Eichel and Kane for awhile. I don't get why you're taking people's guesses to heart.
